The CSI funded the purchase of toy-sized hydrogen cars to allow Inspiron Learning to deliver sessions in both primary and secondary schools using toy hydrogen cars. Funding was also received from the UK Space Agency to support the project.
Project Impact:
From February 2022 to June 2023 Inspiron, partly supported by the CSI,
- provided Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths sessions to a total of 4,387 young people under the title ‘Climate change, Scientists & Engineers Needed’. Of those, a percentage were girls only and 90% delivered to some of the most deprived wards in the Tees Valley.
- 28 STEM ambassadors have attended to support our workshops
- 38 businesses have been involved and provided information on what they do.
- Supported other not for profits; Rubies charity (girls only), High Tide and Redcar Voluntary Development Agency ‘Building our Futures’ programme.
- Won 2 awards from Stockton Council, Community Star award and Mayor’s Civic Awards Green awards winner and a recognition award from Dogger bank wind farm/RCVDA ‘Building our Future’ STEM careers programme.
